I pull out stack of fabrics, quickly jot down some notes and sew up a storm. This afternoon was no exception...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My mind is whirling with new ideas for mary janes, and I finalized the pattern for baby & girl sizes. I'm sure new styles will start to appear in the shop in just a few weeks!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-19597799255946305742012-05-13T21:23:00.000-05:002012-05-13T21:23:59.854-05:00ThankfulMy God, how I have been blessed.<br />
I woke up with my baby more than 4 times last night, who seems to think 5am is some sort of party hour.<br />
My 3 year old enjoys to throw 'dying' fits where he throws himself to the floor anytime he is slightly upset, where he remains still as if a statue.<br />
My oldest boy has the silliest behavior that trying to get him to listen calmly sometimes feels like I am speaking to a wall.<br />
I am so lucky, so thankful for my 3 beautiful boys.<br />
My little baby, who despite not sleeping all night loves to cuddles me, eats so easily and is an easy to please, happy baby. My 3 year old Big boy, is the softest, sweetest most sensitive little guy you can imagine. And my Kiki, who is so proud to be a big brother, is amazingly helpful and wants to be everyone's hero.<br />
Yes, I am so blessed with three wonderful sons that God chose to have me be their Mom.<br />
Chosen to be their Mom, to help them grow, to encourage their personalities and a strong attachment to one another.<br />
I am so exhausted, so I-haven't-slept-more-than-4-hours tired, and feeling like I am failing when I stop to see how absolutely incredible they each are.<br />
Big open mouth baby grins, belly laughs, and brotherly hugs that border on hurting each other.<br />
I am so unbelievably blessed, so lucky to be needed as Mom.<br />
<br />
*This post stems from feelings I have had all week from reading <a href="http://www.hormonal-imbalances.com/">Diana's</a> blog, and have reminded me to slow down and focus on all that I do have.Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-34217496959885659912012-03-11T20:46:00.000-05:002012-03-11T20:46:32.156-05:00Pinned it. Made it.If you are on Pinterest, you know there are Tons of super yummy recipes posted, with pics that make the dish look delicious and easy. Well, I've pinned lots of them with good intentions to try them (like many others, I believe) and have been sadly disappointed with the results. Insert big sad face.<br />
<br />
So I have created a new board, {<a href="http://pinterest.com/weepereas/pinned-it-made-it/">Pinned it. Made it</a>} to save all those fabulous tutorials that are useful and easy to follow, and recipes that both look yummy and taste delicious. <br />
<br />
I made this one last week:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DjNqZPo3sgI/T11U3dBM5AI/AAAAAAAABYg/Qvgn2G_uRpU/s1600/chicken-beans_300.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DjNqZPo3sgI/T11U3dBM5AI/AAAAAAAABYg/Qvgn2G_uRpU/s640/chicken-beans_300.jpg" width="537" /></a></div>And it turned out simple amazing. Hubs even ate it, which is saying something. Becasue last time I baked chicken he said it tasted like a leathery shoe. Yeah.<br />
The kiddos even gobbled it up, veggies and all! It was so nice to have a simple dish to pull out of the oven with everything ready for dinner!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-42605901318431072632012-03-01T17:32:00.000-06:002012-03-01T17:32:00.489-06:00The Whole Haul.Oh yeah. I think I should start a fabric diet. Starting now for several months. My last of my fabric.com orders arrived today,<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MxhElFo64Xk/T1ADvVBY1XI/AAAAAAAABXY/LkZaqhUWWKs/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MxhElFo64Xk/T1ADvVBY1XI/AAAAAAAABXY/LkZaqhUWWKs/s320/002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Heather Bailey Pop Garden on top, Dena Designs Taza in the middle, and Anna Moriah Horner on the bottom - love!! These are all yardage destined to be made into bags.<br />
So here is the whole haul I got from using the coupon glitch:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Z89Bo9n2j7k/T1AEriMSthI/AAAAAAAABXg/0jOP34Btfjs/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Z89Bo9n2j7k/T1AEriMSthI/AAAAAAAABXg/0jOP34Btfjs/s320/003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>All of these fabrics have intended projects, I just need the extra time at my machine to get sewing! And with crazy timing, an order I had placed 2 weeks prior to all this arrived today (finally!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7LHXfXcp-nc/T1AFu5DHEFI/AAAAAAAABXo/TPw1V31A4gs/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7LHXfXcp-nc/T1AFu5DHEFI/AAAAAAAABXo/TPw1V31A4gs/s320/004.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>All of these prints are for custom orders for my shop - so now I can get working on these fun new items! A swap I did with <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/78866058@N00/">Dorte</a> came in the mail all the way from Denmark, I just love these squirrels!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VqU8D4U-h5E/T1AGW45ZJ6I/AAAAAAAABXw/F9bgNDigyAY/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VqU8D4U-h5E/T1AGW45ZJ6I/AAAAAAAABXw/F9bgNDigyAY/s320/001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Ok, Phew! So much fabric can be quite exhausting! I have more fabrics than I have space to store it all and am very tempted to just go buy more storage.. but I have lots of ideas and new fabrics to sew with now!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-40505432005046142722012-02-29T20:30:00.000-06:002012-02-29T20:30:03.613-06:00early morning.Today started out so early this morning, it might as well have still been Sunday! Up at 5:30 to get Kiki ready for a trip to Children's hospital for a pediatric opthomologist appointment. At first quarter parent/teacher conferences Kiki's teacher had mentioned noticing his left eye wandering. She would notice his eye wandering out during carpet time, only to look back and find it had corrected itself - same thing would happen to me when I would watch his eye while doing projects or watching tv at home. At 2nd quarter conferences, Kiki's teacher had mentioned that she was still seeing it happening. So, I called to get an appointment only to have 1 available in the next 4 month span!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sp-Q92rw300/T07cyxJpZiI/AAAAAAAABWQ/eB2DAwntW1k/s1600/early.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Sp-Q92rw300/T07cyxJpZiI/AAAAAAAABWQ/eB2DAwntW1k/s320/early.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="font-size: x-small;">(a bit blurry phone picture from in the office this morning)</span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Kiki did great at the appointment, and responded to everything the two doctor's asked him. He was brave (only cried a little bit) when he had to get the eye drops, but I had told him a lot of the things to expect at the appointment (Thanks <a href="http://www.thehowardfour.blogspot.com/">Jenny</a>!)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">So it turns out, Kiki's vision is 20/20, only slightly near sighted, which is normal in younger children. In the rear of his eye, some of his skin folds are not fully developed which is why his eye will appear to be wandering at time - especially when standing to the side of him. What a day! All of this worrying and stressing over the 'what ifs' - but I would rather worry about the small things instead of ignoring them if it turns out it might have been something bigger!</div>Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-17905867821036524452012-02-23T18:18:00.000-06:002012-02-23T18:18:52.319-06:00A little fabric crazy...If you do not follow along with me over on <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/weepereas/">flickr</a>, you have no idea what kind of madness I have been stirring up.<br />
It started when I saw a post on a facebook group about this fabric.com coupon code and error when using it. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sgQOQP2DGwo/T0aty8r7yyI/AAAAAAAABV4/t7fjtYJmKRY/s1600/free+fabric.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="289" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sgQOQP2DGwo/T0aty8r7yyI/AAAAAAAABV4/t7fjtYJmKRY/s640/free+fabric.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
You can use the code 'PLTRY121' to receive $20 off your order of $75 or more. If you change the amount of fabric in your cart after you enter the code, you can bring the amount due to nothing and pay the $6.95 shipping, or bring your total down to $35, get free shipping and pay the amount you went over $20.<br />
So, $20 worth of fabric = You pay the $6.95 shipping. $35 worth of fabric = You pay the $15 you went over. Pretty nice, considering we all love a good fabric deal!<br />
I was quite excited when I came home today to find this pile:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j7dwDVayfp0/T0avZwEeLKI/AAAAAAAABWA/d1sd6Jt7Gho/s1600/boxes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j7dwDVayfp0/T0avZwEeLKI/AAAAAAAABWA/d1sd6Jt7Gho/s320/boxes.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>I was all giddy over that tall box, wondering what was packaged like that? Turns out it was the faux leather I ordered (for baby shoes soles) and is rolled on a tube. Great, since that means no creases!<br />
So here's the haul, so far*:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--BYYEo8Ley8/T0bVhzyEXZI/AAAAAAAABWI/5aZCWP6C8rc/s1600/fabric.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--BYYEo8Ley8/T0bVhzyEXZI/AAAAAAAABWI/5aZCWP6C8rc/s320/fabric.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>Some Caleb Gray organic robots, Laurie Wisburn modern whimsy dots, plenty of Lotta Jansdotter Echo, Michael Miller huevos, Kokka owls, Echino helicopters, and some pure organic solids.<br />
<br />
I store all of my fabric in these milk crate type bins, and I had to reorganize so I could empty one out for all the new fabric coming.<br />
Fabric.com is known for their irregular cuts, poorly folded fabric and shipping the wrong fabric. I am quite pleased that every piece in these packages was cut with extra length, and every order was correct. If anyone is interested the code was still working earlier this afternoon!<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">*oh yeah, i still have a few orders on the way.</span>Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-26022092935798542702012-02-21T21:13:00.000-06:002012-02-21T21:13:01.652-06:00DQS12 MosaicI know this is late coming partner, but hopefully this post will help provide some direction or helpful hints if you are looking for them!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HDAuZSnb0i4/T0RYEyjX-xI/AAAAAAAABUo/W2y1BaLEuDg/s1600/mosaic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HDAuZSnb0i4/T0RYEyjX-xI/AAAAAAAABUo/W2y1BaLEuDg/s640/mosaic.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div align="center"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">As you can see I love bold colors! I do love a mix of colors, but do not care for a rainbow of color. I love color when combined with a neutral like soft grey or linen. I seem to be most drawn to log cabins, shoofly/churndash (but prefer straight rather than wonky), and drunkards path. I love prints or quilting that create texture or movement within the quilt, such as crosshatch prints, wavy quilting or organic line quilting.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">A few questions have been posted in the group, and I thought I might sum up a few of my answers as to what I would love in a quiltie!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/58856991@N08/">Katherine</a> asked about receiving an all solid mini. I would be thrilled! Although, I would also love lots of solids with a bit of fun prints like polka dots as well!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/21999201@N00/">Craktpot (teri)</a> posted asking about colors - I usually am drawn to limited color pallettes that work together - aqua and yellow in a current fav of mine, but i also love: </div><div style="text-align: left;">grey & yellow; </div><div style="text-align: left;">mustard, teal & lilac; </div><div style="text-align: left;">aqua & orange; teal, </div><div style="text-align: left;">orange and lime... oh the list could go on! </div><div style="text-align: left;">The only color combinations I am not really a fan of, or are so over with are aqua/teal & red/pink, black with brights, and red, white and black.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I hope I gave some good tips partner, but have fun sewing! I am sure I will love the end result! </div>Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-59790559955545458862012-02-14T20:57:00.000-06:002012-02-14T20:57:15.363-06:00Happy Valentine's Day!I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day filled with lots of hugs & smooches from your loved ones! We celebrated with making a big {fancy} meal - lobster, steak, rosmary bread, roasted potatoes and dill carrots.. super delish and much better than trying to eat out - especially with all 3 kiddos!<br />
<br />
My 5 year old, Kiki stayed home from school today with a cough, which gave us a chance to make his Valentine's for his school exchange this week. Anything pink & full of hearts was out of the question, and he actually jumped up and down and yelled 'Yes!' when I showed him these super hero valentine's:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WR6ObOHxWA8/TzscolrcYnI/AAAAAAAABUc/yq1hudA2gnU/s1600/val.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WR6ObOHxWA8/TzscolrcYnI/AAAAAAAABUc/yq1hudA2gnU/s320/val.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://zakkalife.blogspot.com/2011/02/its-bird-its-plane-its-super-valentine.html">(source)</a></div><div align="left" style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">It's a good thing his class exchange isnt until later this week, becasue I blanked out Valentine's Day from my schedule this week. Seriously, I did the grocery shopping, planned out my schedule and errands without including Tuesday. Whoops! </div><div style="text-align: left;">I'm still trying to craft some sort of cute Valentine to give to his teachers, so far <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/189151253069412830/">this one</a> is the only one I've found ... anyone out there have a suggestion? Or can weigh in if Teachers really want <em>another</em> travel sized lotion as a gift?</div>Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-9369139136813686122012-02-06T19:11:00.000-06:002012-02-06T19:11:28.935-06:00Quiltie TwinsThis weekend I happily sewed away, creating two fun little quilts:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2h00Yu1qpt0/TzB1SwU0OsI/AAAAAAAABSU/GLL1rpyuu4g/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2h00Yu1qpt0/TzB1SwU0OsI/AAAAAAAABSU/GLL1rpyuu4g/s320/5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Both quilts are made with a fun organic print from Cloud 9, Ele-fête which featuring tiny elephants and buntings. While not a newly released fabric, these prints have been holding out in my stash to use on just the *right* project.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-99VG-dPAA4o/TzB10ECMPSI/AAAAAAAABSc/wE2YZWY8Xvw/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-99VG-dPAA4o/TzB10ECMPSI/AAAAAAAABSc/wE2YZWY8Xvw/s320/1.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>Ele-fête in <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/92395699/organic-baby-toddler-quilt-playmat-ele">Shell</a>, prefectly sized for a baby crib and features elephants, leaves, solid grey and pink polka dots.<br />

Both quilt are now available in my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/weepereas">shop</a>, and you can also check out my <a href="http://pinterest.com/weepereas/elephant-nursery/">Elephant Nursery</a> inspiration on Pinterest!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-41864672512556231182012-02-01T21:34:00.000-06:002012-02-01T21:34:55.461-06:00Spring has Sprung!There may be 46 more days until the first official day of Spring, but the warm 40F weather here is Wisconsin certainly has me feeling different! I have been bursting with new ideas and pattern for the shop, with few too many hours in the day to sew. Anyone want to lend me some of their little elves? :]<br />
New in the <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/weepereas">shop</a> today is my first batch of a new style of Organic Mary Janes,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a761ZyvCCjM/TyoB9g7p9RI/AAAAAAAABSM/0q_YWcmJrCc/s1600/spring.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a761ZyvCCjM/TyoB9g7p9RI/AAAAAAAABSM/0q_YWcmJrCc/s400/spring.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">(Yes, there is a new ruffle pair amongst the mary janes as well!)</span></div>I have had this pattern idea developing for quite some time - a pretty mary jane, yet practical as it will be comfortable and stay securely on. <br />
If you have followed my blog/shop for a while now, you many remember that I previously made a <a href="http://www.etsy.com/transaction/32423400">few styles</a> of mary janes in my shop .. Well I wasn't completely satisfied with the fit, and after a weekend spent pattern drafting, I do have to say that I find these little mary janes to be *perfect*!<br />
<br />
More styles & colors will be updated again next week, and I also have new sizing and styles in the works.. But here I am getting ahead of myself and spilling the beans early!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-76049204750269927212012-01-24T13:42:00.001-06:002012-01-24T13:43:36.372-06:00White BeltsLast month, Kiki went to a birthday party for a school friend that was hosted at a Martial Arts School. He had a great time at the party, and came home with a card to try out a few lessons for free. Well, the first time we went he was so shy we just sat and watched. For his second lesson, the instructor bribed him with a training tool as a gift if he participated- to which he did really well following the commands. So now Kiki goes a few times a week, and has been getting better with his focus during class, as well as being able to follow along with the moves.<br />
<br />
But then, in true little brother fashion, Big Boy was interested as well and was following along with the class drills from the seating area.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d6V7vmKeKZM/Tx8IB_n-dFI/AAAAAAAABSE/Krnn9NkBXLU/s1600/belts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d6V7vmKeKZM/Tx8IB_n-dFI/AAAAAAAABSE/Krnn9NkBXLU/s320/belts.jpg" width="197" /></a></div><div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">(Making thier Warrior Face after class yesterday)</span></div>So yesterday was the first class for both of them together. Big boy had to complete and follow along the entire class in order to receive his belt, just as Kiki had to. In the past 3 weeks since having Kiki in class he has already received 3 stripes - they signify the learning of different skills. The 2 black were awarded to him for completing a drill they have been doing each week, and he was given the yellow stripe yesterday for a positive discipline report for this month.<br />
Besides the skills that their school teaches them (Respect, Discipline, Confidence) I have to admit seeing them in their tiny uniforms is just as great!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-74431682160132694572012-01-18T18:21:00.000-06:002012-01-18T18:21:57.833-06:00Sponsor Highlight {Plus a 15% discount code!}I have a sponsor highlight post over on <a href="http://www.moriahmakes.com/2012/01/sponsor-highlight-weepereas.html">Moriah Makes</a> today with a lovely review of my new leather soled shoes:<br />

Just look at the little shoes she sewed up:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nMPuBdj5Wkw/TxYoh6CYmII/AAAAAAAABRg/ORwQgxb7yhQ/s1600/394524_350618984967064_109686169060348_1284286_747209297_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nMPuBdj5Wkw/TxYoh6CYmII/AAAAAAAABRg/ORwQgxb7yhQ/s320/394524_350618984967064_109686169060348_1284286_747209297_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I love that she referred to them as looking like Toms knockoffs, and called them Tims!<br />
Michaela also has a custom children's clothing shop, <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/tootsweetboutique">Toot Sweet Boutique</a> you can check out. I made up some ruffle pouches to give to the ladies on my gift list this year,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bT3keb0wZ0s/TvphPB2JC9I/AAAAAAAABN0/W_mG2qWKcQI/s1600/pouch1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bT3keb0wZ0s/TvphPB2JC9I/AAAAAAAABN0/W_mG2qWKcQI/s320/pouch1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>The bottom two were made as teacher gifts, and I also included some Starbucks Via and yummy gingerbread popcorn. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kln_QXg95ZQ/Tvphl2RjQ0I/AAAAAAAABOA/NQleBf7CUwQ/s1600/pouches2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kln_QXg95ZQ/Tvphl2RjQ0I/AAAAAAAABOA/NQleBf7CUwQ/s320/pouches2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>The tutorial for the pouches is from <a href="http://www.noodle-head.com/2010/04/gathered-clutch-tutorial.html">Noodlehead</a>, I opted to not add the side strap. <br />
Only half of these have been gifted to their intended recipients, so if you happen to be a woman I know and not received a gift from me and are reading this - well now you might not be as surprised when you open your Christmas gift from me!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-61976793974944913832011-12-25T20:58:00.000-06:002011-12-25T20:58:22.272-06:00Merry Christmas!A very Merry Christmas from my family to yours!<br />

Kiki has been so giddy about everything surrounding the holiday - the 'show' at Christmas mass last night, opening presents together with his brother, and keeps smiling big and telling me 'Merry Christmas!'<br />
Wishing everyone a blessed and safe holiday season!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-6940707524094936172011-12-21T23:47:00.000-06:002011-12-21T23:47:19.042-06:006 Weeks.My little one is already 6 weeks today! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rkMEBBWcvNo/TvLCrolcWbI/AAAAAAAABNc/Uw3xWwtJlqs/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rkMEBBWcvNo/TvLCrolcWbI/AAAAAAAABNc/Uw3xWwtJlqs/s320/005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>A few things that he has been doing:<br />
Starting to get really good head control, and can hold his head by himself for short periods (when he's not angry & wiggly)<br />
Went a 5 hour block of sleep this week ( !! )<br />
Follows a pretty good schedule of eating/sleeping & brief awake times during the day, followed by several hours of alertness and fussiness before we go to be at night.<br />
Is starting to grow out of newborn sizes, and finally fitting 0-3 months<br />
His baby 'acne' has started to clear, and is fitting in size 1 diapers now (as opposed to newborn size)<br />
<br />
His 3 week checkup stats: 8lbs, 3 ounces - 22" long. The doctor also noted that he has an umbilical hernia, but he is nursing wonderfully well and everything else is going great!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-74990680677918637152011-12-16T10:48:00.000-06:002011-12-16T10:48:25.176-06:00Gingerbread HouseLast night I made out very first Gingerbread House with my boys,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TQNCmIpDKl8/Tut0R-Zy2yI/AAAAAAAABNQ/W-Bm99bK5sg/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TQNCmIpDKl8/Tut0R-Zy2yI/AAAAAAAABNQ/W-Bm99bK5sg/s320/002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>I always wanted to make a gingerbread house as a kid (but had a Mom with little patience & Christmas spirit), so it was a lot of fun - and a bit challenging to keep them focused on the task. Kiki loved sticking the little candies on, while Big boy got bored quickly after realizing the plate of candy wasn't just for snacking :) <br />
<br />
Also, Kiki kept asking if we were going to eat the house, to which I told him 'No, we will bake gingerbread cookies to eat'... Somehow he took this as meaning later and kept asking <br />
'And it will be dark outside, then we will eat the gingerbread house?'<br />
'And we will wake up tomorrow and eat the gingerbread house?'<br />
'Oh, it is dark outside! And now we can eat the gingerbread house?'<br />
<br />
Such a fun tradition to do each year for Christmas!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11884318741858493956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4323083463980157122.post-29856024461366727442011-12-06T14:29:00.000-06:002011-12-06T14:29:28.381-06:00Friday GoodiesWhy yes, I do know that today is Tuesday and not Friday!
