The Elephant Quilt

The Elephant quilt is finished!
I got it back from the quilters on Friday and bound it on Saturday. It only took me a few hours to sew the binding on, I was so excited to have it finished!
It took me so long to get pictures because it is so large and hard to photograph. The elephant quilt top.
Measures 72x90, a twin. And my son isn't even in a twin bed yet!
Fabrics used-
Denyse Schmidt's Katie Jump Rope Argyle and Fairway Plaid, and County Fair in porch
Kona solids in royal, coal and grass green
Japanese elephants are from here.
Inspired by Denyse Schmidt's 'Hop Skip & a Jump' pattern
Quilted with 'meandering circles' by Joni at Threadplay.
I embroidered an elephant for the label, to match the Japanese elephant fabric.
the back.
I am so proud :)
It really did not seem crazy to me at the time that I was going to make such a huge quilt! I am glad that I didn't think to much about the size (and get overwhelmed) because a twin is really only an extra row or two than a throw..
So that means it wont be too hard for me to make a queen for our bed, right? :)
