first scrappy blocks

I started sorting though my scrap bag and made up my first blocks for my scrappy border quilt. The center fabric is Kona charcoal, and each block will alternate with a solid block.
Just 38 more blocks to go!
The pattern is from Red Pepper Quilts - Scrappy Border Quilt.
I also made Big boy some new shoes (finally). I didn't complete something each day as part of Elsie Marley's challenge, so I made him these shoes, as well as a robot pair.

Oh, I love it! That quilt is on my to-do list as well, but I don't have enough scraps yet. I'm looking forward to seeing in progress.

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take you to make a pair of shoes?
