Keepin busy.

This week feels like I have been non stop until today. I went dress shopping yesterday at a place that was closing, so all the wedding dresses were 70% off. I tried on about 10 dresses, and they were all pretty, but I didnt really like any of them, and none really hit me as 'the one'. So I will be going dress shopping next weekend with my awesome sister and I hope I find one. I ran into a little snag this week with our reception place, and we had to move the wedding one week sooner in order to get the park I wanted. So now there is only 12 weeks until the wedding! The woman at the dress shop looked at me crazy when I told her that, like I wasnt going to have enough time to get everything done in time.

I came home to find some fabric goodies! I ordered them from Eden's garden of Fabric on Etsy and Fabric Shoppe on Etsy. Fabric Shoppe does a weekely sale where a fq is only $1, that is the top right polka dot in this picture. The fabric is Michael Miller's Bot Camp, I plan on making a quilt for Chiquitin to have soem tummy time on. I figured all the bright colors would be nice, and it won't be babyish so he can still use it for naptimes as a toddler. I plan to make a Disappering 9 patch.

If somehow you dont know already, Sew Mama Sew is having another HUGE giveaway, and not only for supplies, lots of handmade things as well. Something like 400+ blogs are particiating! I havent even gotten through the A's..Have fun looking and have a great weekend!

Sunday Stash #4

This is some sweet japanese fabric I got a little while back when alittlegoodness was closing. It has little blue and green converse shoes all over it, so I wanted to make some baby shoes(of course) with it. I still havent cut into it yet.

I dont know what it is about warm weather that just makes me want to purge. It hit the 80's last week, and I found myself scrubbing out my bathroom. After cleaning the enire house. I wet to Joanns today and spent $1.49. I didnt buy anything extra, but I actually didn't buy everything on my list. I have so many hoarded fabrics, it feels like such a waste to not be sewing with them. Dont get me wrong, it is nice to have a nice stash, but it is also nice to have room to add to you stash! I have so many ideas floating around I just need to make things! Is this just me? Am I crazy for wanting to destash in the worst possible way?

catch up..

It has been amazingly warm the past few days, in the high 70 or 80s. All that warm weather makes it hard to be inside and get stuff done!
So I will just post about what have gotten done previously..
I was working on a eye spy doll quilt at the same time as I was doing my DQS6. It was a 'practice quilt' that way I would make any mistakes on this one, and not the one I was to send off to my partner. I used a variety of prints, and I love the stripey binding. It reminds me of a man's tie. I still need to add a label to this.

I went down to a few quilt shops last week-

I picked these up from Quilter's Destination in Arlington Heights ,IL. It was a cute little shop with lots of patterns, but I think the women working were not too keen on a toddler running around their store..

This haul is from Quilter's Heaven in Northbrook,IL. I could have gone crazy in this shop. They had a lot of cute Kaffe Fasset prints, Amy Butler and a whole room of colors, with a wall just for polka dots and stripes! The top right prints are Amy Butler, and the bottom left ones are from Michael Miller's Bot Camp line. I want to make a little quilt with these, I just need to pick up more of the line now. The sock monkey fabric was just too cute to pass up, I dont really have much in mind as to waht to use it for though..

So I just made up a cup of tea, and I am hoping to finish the half done projects I have had sitting on my counter this whole week.

Juggling Act..

Thats how life has been for the past few weeks. When I started my second class at school, it was as though I has to drop one of the ball I was juggling, and the first to go was any kind of social life. I just couldnt keep up. It became hard to keep up with everything around the house too, just didnt have then energy for it. It all dwildled down to just being able to juggle family and school. I have been trying to slowly get back into things- hence the lack of blogging.

I went down to Ikea last week (for dressers) and came back with a nice fabric haul. I have the number fabric listed in my shop, the other fabrics I plan to make lovies, blankets and other stuff for my shop.
I went down with my Aunt and we also hit a two quilt shops. I will have to post some pics of the goodies later. I got to hang out with my (teenage) cousin, and it was awesome just talking with her, and we had fun together (I hope she did) despite she was just getting dragged along to quilt shops.

I spent this past weekend attending a church retreat conference for engaged couples. It was insipiring, to say the least. There was a lot of lectures that we attended, and group classes too. The amount of information that I walked away from there with left the two of us with plenty to talk about. I picked out invitations this week, and need to start really planning more details of the wedding, considering it is less than 3 months away! Ack!

I did an interview a few months back, and totally forgot about it. You can check it out if you want over at SwapDex.

I will have more to post soon, I have too many wips right now, and plan on trying to get a ton more stuff listed in my shop this week. I almost have a second page in my shop, yeah!
