it's a great mail week since I got some Japanese fabric I ordered, as well as some coordinating polka dots..
I am thinking I might change the lime polka dot for slate, or another red polka dot to coordinate with the airplane fabric on the right..
I picked up a bolt of Kona 'bone' to use for the lining, and can finally start sewing a few together.
This is from the book 'Woolly Embroidery' and this design is the entire reason I own the book! I had so much fun stitching it, and combining so many different embroidery stitches!
I started to make some blocks for a Spiderweb Quilt. I will be using all my scraps, so hubby is calling this my recycled quilt.
I made up block #2 last night.
I started to list some reusable snack bag sets in my shop, now I will be working on fun prints that would be great for children. I will be listing these individually so you can make up your own fun assortment. I should have a few up by tomorrow afternoon..
I am hoping for a little sunshine tomorrow, I got my robot quilt back from the quilters and I am dying to post some pictures!
Last night I made up this little reusable snack bag. I made it using Alexander Henry's 'Traffic Jam' (Thanks Leah!) I am not completely happy with how it turned out, the side seams are a little bulky. The seams are not exposed though, so there will not be any fraying when it is washed. I plan on working on another design this afternoon, hopefully I can get the seams to lay nice and flat...
Just a little sneaky peek of something I was working on yesterday.
I hemmed the towels up this afternoon- it only really took as much time as the cutting did.
The towels on the left are made Robert Kaufman's Fruit Basket ( I have lots of this to swap if anyone's interested!) and the right fabric is Alexander Henry's Juicy. I received some of the linen in a swap a while ago, it was nice to finally use it.
I also got more baby boots listed today- Baby Boots, Sweet Polka dots
and Baby Boots, Brown Plaid. I love this pair, I used natural coconut buttons on the front flap.
A second pair of boots. Made with 100% wool outers and fleece lining. I figured out the two things I am still unhappy with in the pattern, and I believe my next pair should come out better.
These have been a WIP for far too long. I finished up all 10 floral centerpieces for the wedding reception. I am glad I didn't have grand plans of making more of these. I think it took about 10 hours to finish all 10 centerpieces. Probably should have just went with silk and called it a day. I will be the only one looking at them and appreciating all their handmade-ness. Oh well. I will just need to stick a little light in the glass gems so the vase illuminates during the reception. I also tied a ribbon bow on one- can you see it? I think it looks lame, but sweetie likes it. Anyone care to tell me what they think? Bow or no bow?
Making up some tiny newborn shoes. I am using Kokka 'Trefle' Japanese fabric with Joel Dewberry's "Deer Valley". It is so fun to make things that are tiny :)
Some quilt blocks. I am working on a grey linen and various oranges quilt. I am going to make a throw quilt, but nice and big -60x70 or so. That way I can cuddle with my kiddos or my sweetie. I have used up all my linen, so I need to go pick up more to keep working on this quilt top. I have 12 blocks finished, and need to sew 30 more. I used this tutorial for the blocks, but will cut the blocks to have different widths around the off set center square. If anyone has any Amy Butler's Tangerine Full Moon Dot and would like to swap, please contact me! I thought it would be super cute in this quilt!
Making some felt food! I haven't made anything in months, and I forgot how fun it was to make some of this! This is for an etsy order that I am putting together. I have half of the cakes done, just need to make the chocolate. I also still need to make some farfalle pasta and some raviolis. Then just stuff and a lot of hand sewing!
The order is for a friend of my sister's, I also made this little embroidered lovie blanket for her too. It is so fun to work with someone and make something so special and unique to give as a gift.
So, I am behind on my goal for my Etsy. I only made 4 items for my shop last week, and it is Wednesday and I don't have anything made to be listed for this week! I plan on adding a small border to the robot quilt and dropping it off to be quilted on Friday. Maybe I will be able to have a productive night tonight, and a good day tomorrow...
A boys apron. I made up one of these aprons for a boy in my sons playgroup for his 2nd birthday last week. While I was cutting the fabric, I figured I would make an extra to put in my shop, and I am so glad I did! I forgot how fun it is to make little aprons, and I did it MUCH nicer than the first few aprons I made. For some reason I didn't sew the first one inside out, then topstitch... It looks so much nicer now, and much 'cleaner' with out all those little stitches everywhere..
These are a couple I made up last night, just needing a small finishing seam.
I got a custom order request for 'gender neutral jungle theme' baby shoes Monday, and it was nice to have to take a break from all my chapter write-ups. I came up with these 4 designs for her, and she chose the top left ones. The others will be soon listed in my shop, they are amongst an over growing pile of 'only needs a tiny hand stitch and its done' that is taking over my counter.
I have some more baby gifts I made up, awesome birthday goodies to share, and a bunch of mail goodies I will try to be posting about in the next few days.

I got some lacing cards at Hobby Lobby and Cristian does really well with them! I thought he was going to have a hard time with the tiny holes and laces, but he sat next to me quietly while I was hand sewing! I had out my thread the other day, and I found Cristian sorting all the same type of spools, and telling me what colors they were! He called pink 'green' a few times, but I think he just loves the color green :)
Anybody else have any fun color sorting ideas? Or know somewhere that I can get lacing cards that aren't just flimsy cardboard and will actually stand up to repeated use by a toddler?
I got all my fabrics washed and ironed for my DQS6. The top left fabric is linen, which I plan to embroidering on.
I have been working on trying to get my shop together, and trying to improve my packaging and such.
at home. It will also mean I can print shipping labels from home, and tracking info will be sent to the recipient with out having to pay the extra 75 cents from the post office.
Trying to restock my shop. I had an amazing 8 sales from Friday- Monday. My busiest yet! I didn't expect the sale to go over so well last weekend. I received a couple of custom orders for crayon booklets as well. I think I may need to make more than what I have cut out here.. The finished one on top is a custom order from Hong Kong! It will be my first international and custom order!

Working on a new pattern for baby shoes. This is all of the failed pattern. I went through and made up at least 4 different mock shoes, only to have them be wonky in one way or the other. I spent two days on and off trying to figure it out to get them to look right, and I finally figured it out Tuesday morning. It is a pattern for baby shoes, but in size 3 months. If Chiquitin didn't need new shoes I doubt I would have kept trying! I probably would have given up...
Listed these 'Sweetheart pink' shoes in the shop today. I listed some more crayon rolls at the end of last week, one of which sold the same day I listed it! Yeah!
