Mail Goodies

This week my mailbox has been busy!

This is what I receivd it the 'Wishing it were Spring' FQ Swap. It was hosted by Stitches and Scissors and I was partnered with Sarah.

This was what I received as part of a destash swap with a fellow flickr member, Nancey. The blue on the left is so awesome so soft fleece, but better quality than I have ever seen at Joanns. It will be great for lining baby shoes! The polka dot fabric will make some cute baby shoes as well :)

I received this package as part of the Flickr Fat Quarter Swap, three lovely fat quarters, some silk fabric covered buttons, a fabric magnent, and some stationary and note cards. I just love the polka dots, they were my fav in the package. I received some ribbon swaps too this week, just small envy swaps though, if you want to see them you can check out my flickr swap set here.
Best of all this week:
My new sewing Machine!!! This is my birthday present, since them shipping was estimated at three weeks, which would have been right around my birthday. It cam from Joanns is about 5 days! It is factory refurbished, and has 120 stitches I think.. maybe it has more.. I am still trying to get the hang of it, having a little computer in my machine is a bit different! I have been trying to get the tension right and have been playing around with the alphabet stitches a bit, but I havent really had much time. It will be so nice to have a nice machine to rely on :)
'Easter Bunny Children's Swap' signups start tomarrow!
And I am still having a sale on my crayon booklets in my shop! They are 2 for $20, and I have 10 available still!

WIP Wednesday

A whole lot of nothing going on here. Not that I have lost craft interest or am loacking motivation, but potty traiing doesnt leave me much time to do much. Except laundry.

This is as far as I have made progress on my diaper bag. Even I find that pathetic. I dont even have half the pieces cut out.

This is a new packing I am thinking about for my baby shoes. I would appreciate any honest feedback.

Can anybody help me with creating a blog button for a childrens swap? Please contact me if you can help, or even can help me find a cute easter bunny/ bunny picture to use for my blog.

Easter Bunny Childrens Swap details and signups will be posted March 2nd.

30 days is having an amazing giveaway! She is having a giveaway for a fabulous piece of jewelry from a very cute Etsy shop-Cinnmon Sticks. Go check out the giveaway and the amazing pieces of jewelry in that etsy shop.

Playing catch up..

Oh, the weeks have been short and the weekends long. That would seem all well, but I find myself scrambling around all week long trying to get things done that have been put off, and then the weekend spent running around doing errands with never enough time. (since that when I can do it kids free) That, and a bit of fabric shopping to get me through another week :)

We have gone diaper free this weekend, Cristian is only wearing underwear now. Which resulted in me trying to get 4 loads of laundry done today. (hence the catching up...) Cristian seems to show no signs of willingness, but I am determined to not give up. We have been putting him on the potty for almost 3 months now, and never once has he actually gone. Today was the first time he said 'potty' and actually sat down! So I let him put a big sticker on his reward chart on the fridge. I am doing all I can think of to try to encourage him. Signing a potty song while he is on the potty, asking him constantly, giving him a jelly belly just for sitting on it, and well getting grossed out by having to clean poop up all over the floor.

Please somebody tell me this gets better. Even thought I know it won't for a while...

I finally started cutting fabric to make my diaper bag. Yeah, you know the one I planned for last weeks WIP.. .I am using this tute, looks super cute.

I have a bunch of crayon booklets listed in my shop. I will be having a sale this weekend, 2 crayon booklets for $20, so save $5. If you are interested in buying one earlier than that, just send me a convo on flickr, or leave a note that you are a blog reader in the 'messages to seller' and I will refund you the difference.

Oh, Unraveled is selling off a ton of knitting supplies if anybody is interested. There is also an awesome liberty fq ,yarn giveaway ..Go check it out!

WIP Wednesday

Working on finishing up some crayon booklets for my Etsy. I have one finished, and 4 just needing topstitching. Then the other 3 need to be sewn up. I picked up these cute Dick and Jane fabrics from a local quilt shop, and think they will just be perfect for the crayon booklets.

I am hoping to start on a new diaper bag for me, I dont remember the last time I sewed for myself... or even my kiddos. Knowing how I am I will probably cut out more baby shoes for my shop though...

A Heart For Home is offering a very generous giveaway- 4 yards of fabric of your choice! go check it out!

Be My Valentine Swap- packages

Here is what I sent for me swap package to Life with Nature Girl.

A few of my favorite things that I made for her package:

Tiny owl embroidered coasters, and a love bear softie. I got the pattern online, I will link to it when I find it again...

And the lovelies we received:
alphabet wall stickers, car stickers, finger puppets for Chiquitin (that Cristian ran off with...), robot stickers...
A close up of the wonderful embroidering on the robot bag. I think this will be great to use for library books. Cristian loves putting everything in it and carrying it around the house :)

an absoutely beautiful apron, some notecards and paper, yummy candies ( I havent had nibs since I was a kid!), a vintage cookbook, scented candle (smells really yummy!) and some pretty fabric.

What a wonderful swap package! I am so pleased to have had you as swap partners! We love everything!

WIP Wednesday

Working on a new pattern for baby shoes. This is all of the failed pattern. I went through and made up at least 4 different mock shoes, only to have them be wonky in one way or the other. I spent two days on and off trying to figure it out to get them to look right, and I finally figured it out Tuesday morning. It is a pattern for baby shoes, but in size 3 months. If Chiquitin didn't need new shoes I doubt I would have kept trying! I probably would have given up...

Listed these 'Sweetheart pink' shoes in the shop today. I listed some more crayon rolls at the end of last week, one of which sold the same day I listed it! Yeah!

If anybody is up for a swap, Stitches and Scissors is hosting an 'wishing it was spring' FQ swap, hurry up signup's end today!

Wonderful Shop.

Ok, I know this is my Sister In Law's, but I really do love her stuff. And not because I have to, but because she has some really great products!
Ark's Endeavors is open, and for the month of February she is offering a deal on FQ's: if you buy 4 fat quarters you get one free, or buy 5 and get free shipping!
She has found some really awesome, unique vintage linens.
I started using her soap about 3 months ago, and our dry skin problems have been alleviated. Cristian had an excema break out so bad on his face, it looked like he was burned. He had it for roughly 3 months i think, and we started using her unscented bar of soap, and it cleared up, and we haven't had any problems since. I have also used a few of her other scents, like the lavendar, on his skin with no problems. Baby Chiquitin does really well with the soap as well.
So go check it out, get you an oh so soft washcloth and some awesome natural bars of soap. For those of you who are crafters, check her her amazing selection of FQ's, or check out other linens she has available on her flickr.

Handmade Goodness

I participated in Bird and Little Bird 's handmade swap- A good swap never hurt anyone, in the Spirit of the CPSIA. I recived my package a few minutes before heading out the door for school, and I was awestruck at the lovlies inside.

Look at her cute little face!

Besides the doll, their is cute vintage valentine card, a brooch, and a cute felt pencil topper.
My swap partner was Adrienne, and you can see her blog post about my package I sent here, or check out my flickr. There is also a flickr group set up, and I am just amazed at the talent of some of the creations!

Yeah!

Chiquitin rolled over for the first time today! And did it with such ease like it wasn't a big deal! I think I scared him with all my clapping and shouting hooray!... His coordination is getting really great, he can pick up a toy laying next to him and hold it with both hands to chew on it. He doesn't make as much as a fuss during tummy time either, and will just lay and gaze around for a minute or so until he get furious. It is hard for me to think he will be 4 months old next week!

New to the shop this morning :

Another Crayon Booklet-Monkey'n Round. You can check it out here!

Amanda- I am 3 to your 0! (mwuh-ha-ha -ha!)
